Help Support Disaster Relief in Louisiana

Each year, hurricane season in Louisiana lasts from June 1st to November 30th. Dangers from these storms include high winds, heavy rain, tornadoes, flooding, and power outages.

Despite preparation, families and people across the gulf coast and in the state of Louisiana will face stronger winds, higher storm surges, record rainfalls, and more severe and intense storms during hurricane season. While we never know what will come our way, we know grassroots groups are the ones best able to support the local community in times of immediate disaster.

Power Coalition for Equity and Justice works to distribute direct cash assistance and aid to help survivors find temporary lodging, streamline communications so people can access resources like food and medical supplies, pay for child care and feed families.

Hurricane season is now and equitable disaster recovery is imperative as climate-related disasters worsen. Help us in the work to provide equitable: relief, recovery and rebuilding for the communities that often go overlooked and receive the least in times of disaster.
